Cruzan Confusion Cocktail Recipe

Cruzan Rum Distillery is located on the island of St. Croix and has been ran by the Nelthropp family for several generations. Located in Fredricksted the distillery has been producing rum since 1760 during the sugar heydays of the Danish West Indies. The currently produce 4 dark rums, 1 light rum, and 9 fruit-flavored rums, and 1 rum cream. I will expand a bit more on Cruzan Rum’s history in a future blog but for right now…I’d like to bring attention to one of their famous cocktails the Cruzan Confusion. This drink has been made famous by part-time St. John Resident and notable country singer Kenny Chesney. Its called a Cruzan Confusion because of the various Cruzan Rums.

Cruzan Confusion (Full Blown):

  • 1 part Cruzan Coconut Rum
  • 1 part Cruzan Banana Rum
  • 1 part Cruzan Pineapple Rum
  • 1 part Cruzan Black Cherry Rum
  • 1 part Cruzan Mango Rum
  • 1 part Guava Rum

With equal parts of Cranberry, Orange, & Pineapple Juices combine all ingredients with ice and garnish with a cherry or slice of orange. Enjoy!

Cruzan Confusion (Simple):

  • 1 part Cruzan Coconut Rum
  • 1 part Cruzan Mango Rum
