Lionfish

The Department of Planning and Natural Resources has been diligently working to manage and control the rapidly growing lionfish population. Now as part of that effort, they’re encouraging residents to put them on the plate and eat them. They also want more fisherman to have incentives for catching the spiny predator, and they hope to get legislative funding to assist the fishermen in that regard.

N2 The Blue: Frederiksted Pier Night Dive 4.26.11

While browsing Facebook today I came across these awesome pictures of  St. Croix’s awesome marine life courtesy of N2TheBlue. Personally, I’m not sure if I’d ever wade in the sea at night much less scuba dive but the scenery looks amazing.
