Sizzla: Love Jah & Live Video – RiddimVibration

Internationally renowned reggae artist Miguel “Sizzla Kalonji” Collins recently launched his 65th album at the King Jammys studio, Kingston 11.

The artist was in high spirits as members from the entertainment industry and fans paid respect to the veteran artist, as he unveiled the quality of his latest work, produced by John John.

The album titled ‘The Scriptures’ is an acoustic roots reggae album, which sees Sizzla going back to his roots, while grooving professionally crafted reggae beats of international quality.

The album is credited as being quite similar to Sizzla’s last successful album produced by Bobby Digital which had the timeless hit single ‘Thank You Mama’.

‘The Scriptures’ also features Canadian rapper Peter Jackson on a single called The World is watching you.

John John, the young producer with the skill of a veteran, said the project was one that made him proud. According to the producer, the quality stemmed from the good chemistry he had found with Sizzla.

The man of the night, Sizzla, expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the making of the album, and also took the opportunity to encourage the patrons to find their roots and respect their African heritage.

The artist also gave the patrons a preview of his ability to write and speak the Hebrew language.

The Scriptures is being digitally distributed by Zojak which is credited as being the largest distributor of reggae music in the world.

According to Zoie, the Zojak representative, the album debuted at No. 4 on the iTunes reggae chart and No. 3 on the iTunes French chart.

“Knowing Sizzla, I feel like he is in a different place and this is the Sizzla that everybody loves. I think the album is outstanding, we believe in the album and the lyrics that he writes,” said Zoie.

Lady Saw, the queen of dancehall, was also present at the launch and she said that she has admired Sizzla for years and he was definitely an icon.

“Sizzla is a multi-talented artist and this is a wonderful album. It reminds me of the one with Bobby Digital, very positive and uplifting and big up John John who produced the album,” she said.

The Scriptures Part 2 will be released in a few months and Sizzla is currently gearing up to go on a promotional tour of Africa, Japan, Brazil, Guyana, among other countries.
